Gilbertsville, PA – The Philadelphia Junior Tour traveled back to Hickory Valley Golf Club for the conclusion of the Precision Pro Golf Open. 50 juniors returned to battle against the strong winds and saturated par 71, 6,611/5,839 yard long Presidential course.
Taking home the gold for the Boys 16-18 division, with a second round score of 74 (+3) and 143 (+1) overall, was Ryan McCabe (Media, PA). McCabe scored the low round of the tournament and was awarded a rangefinder courtesy of Precision Pro Golf for the boy’s division. He recorded seven birdies over the two-day event helping him to earn the win. Close behind in second place was Tyler Kipp (Reading, PA) with a 77 (+6) for his second round and a 156 (+13) overall. Kipp shot an even par on the front nine and picked up six more on the back. Tying for third place with a two-round score of 158 (+16) was Christopher Myers (Yardley, PA) and Samuel Barsh (Blue Bell, PA). Myers shot a second round of 79 (+8) and Barsh recorded an 81 (+11) for day two.
Matthew Homer (Wilmington, DE) finished in the top spot of the Boys 13-15 division with a two-day score of 150 (+8). Homer shot a 75 (+4) for the second day in a row and was able to record a pair of birdies. Tying for second place with overall scores of 157 (+15) was Matthew Vital (Bethlehem, PA) and Jack Davis (Newtown Square, PA). Vital finished the second round with an 81 (+10) and six pars over the 18 holes. Davis started out strong with a couple pars and a birdie, finishing with an 83 (+12).
In the boys 17-24 college division, Matt Snowdon (Annapolis,MD) shot a second round score of 79 (+8) for a total of 168 (+26). Snowdon started his day on the back nine, parring four of his first six holes, finishing with 11 pars on the day.
In first place for the girls 16-18 division was Ava O’Sullivan (Exton, PA), shooting a score of 80 (+9) in her second round for a grand total of 162 (+20). Ava birdied twice on the front nine and parred three holes on the front nine as well. She ended the day with 8 pars for her second round. O’Sullivan was also the recipient of the first place award for the girls division, receiving a Precision Pro range finder. Following close behind O’Sullivan in second place was Lauren Jones (Newtown Square, PA), with a second round score of 85 (+14) and a total sum of 168 (+26). In third place finished Kathleen Mark (Media, PA) with a score of 81 (+10) in her second round, but with a total sum of 169 (+27).
For the girls 13-15 division, Rhianna Gooneratne (Plymouth Meeting, PA) shot an 87 (+16) in her second round for a total of 175 (+33). Gooneratne had two birdies on the day en route to a strong finish. Right behind her in second was Megan Adelman (Bryn Mawr, PA), shooting a 90 (+19) on the day and finished with a total of 178 (+36).
Julianne Lee (York,PA), who competed in the girls 17-24 college division, finished with a second round score of an 81 (+10) and a total score of 161 (+19) for the tournament. Lee started off strong, parring 6 of her first 9 holes on the day.
